Munich Alte Pinakothek

Munich's three most famous art museums are the Alte Pinakothek, which displays classical paintings; the Neue Pinakothek, which displays modern paintings; and the Pinakothek der Moderne, which displays contemporary art. The Alte Pinakothek, in particular, displays many classical and religious paintings (from the 14th to 18th centuries). Works by famous masters such as Dürer, Rubens, Da Vinci, Raphael, and Rembrandt are all gathered together. Dürer's self-portrait, a representative example of German painting, is a must-see. My personal favorite is Rubens's "Madonna with a Wreath."
