Huge and stunning Residenz!!

This is a spectacular surprise. The Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections. Great for our rainy days! Largely reconstructed after the war, most of the art preserved, there are 90 rooms on display. There is a vast amount of information in the audio guide. Wonderful building inside and out. Beautiful gardens as well. Well worth the visit for the history, even though a lot has been recreated. #couplestrip #munich #germanytravel
