Exploring Arts & Culture in Muar

Besides the rich history, Muar has plenty else to offer. Especially make it a point to see the “The Loving Sisters” by Russian artist, Julia Volchkova. On the alley off Jalan Sisi is the first AR (Augmented Reality) murals which have been included in the Malaysian Record. There are several mural arts that can be seen here such as paddy fields, betta, big-headed shrimps, egrets, and more, reflecting on the ecological and natural environment of Muar. There’s an eclectic mix of artworks with no specific theme. Fans of Japanese anime and Disney cartoons will find some of the art interesting and there are also themes related to the culture and history of Muar and Johor Bahru.
