From river cruises, to kayaking and such adventures to spectacular cycling and walking paths by the river and river walks. There's a heap load of activities surrounding it. Just like a beach, the riverside is a great way to unwind. I have also done a lot of people watching and walking by the river. These activities make my trips more meaningful and satisfying.
