Yala’s Gala of Wildlife

An amazing experience with Onadi - Yala Experience, most people tend to visit Yala block 1 which is always overcrowded and surrounded by jeeps trying to see the wildlife! I opted for Yala block 5 which has half the amount of leopards, and approximately only 30% chance of seeing a Sri Lankan Sloth Bear - amazingly we were blessed with the sight of a sloth bear in the jungle, alongside a leopard just 50m down the track! Both then came out to say hello on the main road as they hunt for their prey - more photos to be published as soon as they have been developed. Also the cost of this was 46000 LKR (143€ / $155 / £120) for 3 people, a jeep with a driver and entrance fees - essentially being 11000 LKR / person for entry + 4333.33 LKR for jeep hire This safari started at 5:30am (pickup) and 10:30am (drop off), there are options to do full day tours to increase your chances of seeing more wildlife, but I was more than satisfied with what I saw in this time! #yala #wildlife #safari #srilanka #travel
