This year, I saw the news that the Qingdao Christmas Winter Town had opened earlier than usual, so I came to experience the Christmas atmosphere. It's located at the site of the former Belgian Consulate, just like last year. Although the carousel and Christmas tree weren't there, the Christmas tree lights and other thoughtful decorations were still quite a pleasant surprise. During the evening band performance, I noticed the lights changed rhythmically with the music. Overall, the stalls and foreign band performances this year were quite good. Holding a cup of mulled wine, watching the sky over the sea, waiting for the sunset to paint the sky a pale pink, then the afterglow of Orange Beach, and then, as night fell and the lights came on again, the whole town instantly transformed into a dazzling galaxy. The lighting ceremony was bustling with people, and the romantic performance by the foreign band made me sway along. It truly is a place where you can briefly forget the cold weather because of the romance. The air was filled with the warm aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon, and the unique and delicious fragrance of fermented bean curd. What I liked most this year were the handicraft stalls; the items felt more refined than last year's shops. Moreover, the complimentary vouchers included with the ticket purchase can be used in combination, making it quite cost-effective for groups. The handcrafted Santa Claus is incredibly lifelike, and the rotating Christmas tree, shimmering in the light and shadow, blurs the line between reality and fairy tale. Each handmade Christmas bell proclaims that Santa Claus might indeed grant everyone's unique Christmas wish. It makes everyone who steps here willingly believe in the existence of romance. There are also several adorable little surprises, such as Santa Claus falling into the grass, and the Christmas decorations inside the Christmas house. A closer look reveals the organizers' thoughtful touches. If you don't see a band performance, it's recommended to ask the staff or wait a bit; the performances and the evening lighting ceremony are definitely worth looking forward to. Also, the long fries and the fermented bean curd are delicious and highly recommended; consider them if you're visiting in the following days. PS: If you don't want to play the games, you can exchange a small red card for a small gift at the exit. Overall, it was a good experience, nothing disappointing. I'll definitely come back for Christmas weekend. If you're visiting in December, I recommend wearing warm clothes, as it can get a bit chilly at night.
