A Whimsical Day at the Ghibli Museum 🇯🇵

Step into the enchanting world of Studio Ghibli at this incredible museum that many fans dream of visiting. Here are some of my tips to enjoy your day～ 🎫 Tickets are 1000¥ and go on sale on the 10th of each month at 10am. It is DIFFICULT to get tickets, but keep refreshing the page and you’ll get through eventually! 🚇 The museum is located in Mitaka, in the outskirts of Tokyo. Take the JR Chuo Line to JR Mitaka Station. Use the South Exit and walk 15 minutes to the museum. 🏡 The museum itself was designed by Hayao Miyazaki and it feels like stepping into a Ghibli movie. There are so many details and hidden references to the films! 🎨 Inside the museum, most areas are photography restricted ～ so you really have to go and see for yourself! There are many rough sketches and storyboards of ideas for Ghibli movies, it’s all so interesting and exciting to read about. 🎥 The Saturn Theatre shows short Studio Ghibli films that cannot be seen anywhere else. Entrance is included with your ticket. I got to watch ‘Boro the Caterpillar’ and it was so cute! 🌳 As you go outside and up the spiral staircase, there is a life-size 5 metre tall statue of a robot soldier from Castle in the Sky. It’s a perfect photo opportunity and many people line up to get their shot! 🌟 To finish off your day at the Ghibli Museum, check out the Straw Hat Cafe and the souvenir shop.
