The Min Clan Ancestral Hall in Sansing Village, Miluo, Hunan

Built during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty and completed in the sixth year of the Tongzhi reign (1867), the Min Clan Ancestral Hall features a three-bay, three-courtyard layout facing south. This brick-and-wood structure has a flush-gable roof with horse-head gable walls, post-and-lintel framing, intricate openwork wood carvings, marble doors and windows, as well as painted murals and relief sculptures. The main buildings are arranged along the central axis, with side rooms and wing corridors flanking both sides, forming a symmetrical enclosed quadrangle courtyard. Covering approximately 995 square meters, the ancestral hall exhibits rigorous spatial organization with varied heights and clear hierarchical distinctions. As a quintessential example of traditional architecture in northern Hunan, the Min Clan Ancestral Hall showcases strong regional characteristics and provides valuable material evidence for studying the historical development, architectural styles, and religious culture of ancestral halls in the region. It is designated as a Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit of Hunan Province.
