Maomao Mountain Park

#2024Travel Review Miaoli's Great Forest Park has a large parking lot on Park Road and a small parking lot (about 5) next to the Martyrs' Shrine. Both are free and have many facilities such as children's play areas, trails, pavilions, monuments, Lai's Chastity Arch and toilets. There is also a century-old Gongweixu Tunnel, which was converted from an old railway into a pedestrian walkway. There is an ecological pond with flowers and fish in front of the entrance, and a real railway next to it. Trains pass by from time to time. There are colorful LED lights and train whistle sound effects in the tunnel. It is about 500m long and it is easy and cool to walk in. At the other end is the south exit, with a lawn and a nostalgic platform, with two retired old trains for taking photos. Overall, Maoli Mountain is a great attraction, very suitable for families or couples to visit, and plan a slow tour of about 2 hours.
