Finally witnessed the strategic location of the Holiday Inn Melaka

The Holiday Inn Melaka is brilliantly located, right at the side of the estuary where the Melaka River flows into the sea. From the windows, you can see the famous Strait of Malacca, well-known in both geography and history books. The hotel is adjacent to the World Heritage old town and Jonker Street, separated by the city expressway. It takes only about ten minutes to walk to the landmark Dutch Square. The surrounding area is full of shopping malls and eateries, especially the famous thousand-layer cake of Malaysia, which is nearby. In short, this is a place where you can feel the bustling atmosphere at any time without being disturbed by the noise. It seems to have been in operation for a long time, as the decor and hardware maintenance are somewhat outdated. The reception lobby is simple and spacious, with a model of a local transportation tool, a sidecar bicycle, at the entrance of the elevator hall, similar to the yellow tuk-tuk at the Hyatt in Mumbai. The guest rooms also have a very fast-paced feel, with the sink and toilet being unbranded products. The shower water temperature fluctuates, and the sound insulation at night is poor. Even compared to a lower-tier HIX hotel in China, there are not many advantages here. You can only focus on the sea and sky view outside the window to feel that the trip is worthwhile. The third floor of the hotel is a comprehensive public area with a spa, gym, table tennis, billiards, and an outdoor swimming pool. The executive lounge for high-level members is also here. Unfortunately, no one informed me during check-in, and I discovered it by wandering around. At that time, there were less than 10 minutes left before the dinner service ended at 8 PM, so I only went for a visit. The food was quite abundant. The next day's breakfast was arranged in the second-floor restaurant. It was a gloomy and rainy day, which was quite unpleasant. The food initially seemed ordinary, but after a few more rounds, I found it to have a low-end version of global cuisine, probably to cater to the diverse guest composition. It included Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Indian, and Western dishes. You can use your imagination to combine various dark cuisines. Additionally, there were a few local snacks freshly fried on the outdoor terrace, which were also worth trying. Overall, it is worth a short stay.
