Melaka is a heritage city but its also a Gastronomic heaven with different cultural food to try and experience. During my recent Melaka trip, I was transported back in time at this restaurant called De Xing Lung Kopitiam. It's a new eatery but it was decorated with old school retro theme that felt like I was back in the 60s or 70s. The outdoor space and the cups to the bowls used were all vintage. It felt good to see something different and historic. Their food was fantastic, especially their handpulled noodles such as their mee hoon kueh. You can have it with soup or dry. The noodles had a firm and chewy texture, which went well with the flavourful soup broth. Try their laksa too, where the coconuty soup had a kick and was very aromatic. Soak in the retro atmosphere and enjoy your meal here. You will enjoy it!
