Spring Outing to Qiaoxi's Ancient Charm, Revisiting the Hakka Ancient Houses. Adjacent to Meizhou's 5A-rated scenic spot 'Yannanfei', there lies an ancient Hakka village called 'Qiaoxi Ancient Charm'. It is also an unmissable destination when visiting Meizhou, where a dozen Hakka ancient houses built during the Ming and Qing dynasties stand, telling visitors the stories of the centuries past. On this trip, I entered the Jishan Building for the third time in seven years. The increasingly well-organized area around the Jishan Building allows us to get closer to it and understand its architectural culture from a distance. Every time I pass through this north-facing, south-facing building, I am amazed as if it were my first visit at its ingeniously arranged layout. Because it consists of seven rows of multi-story horizontal houses, with public areas on the ground floor and residences above, these seven spaces are connected by five gates to form a whole structure, and with its central axis symmetry, it is also known as the 'Seven-Bar Building' and 'He-Bar Building'. Rarely seen carvings and paintings that have withstood the passage of time still use various artistic techniques to interpret the glory of the past. They include exquisitely carved woodwork, lifelike colored sculptures, and captivating murals... Higher up from the Jishan Building is the Baoshan Building. Walking up the path to the Baoshan Building, I found that the wood and pottery carvings here are also very well preserved, different yet harmonious with the Jishan Building, and also worth savoring, This visit to the Qiaoxi Ancient Charm Hakka ancient residential cluster, the experience of the old and new interchanging, has formed my new memories of this place.
