Olive trees in Malta

It is not difficult to spot olive trees while strolling the sidewalks of Valletta in the autumn. In fact, olive trees have a long history of existence in the island of Malta as they had been introduced by the Phoenician seafarers in the 1st millenium B.C. I was here in mid-October and it was just the beginning of autumn and the olives are still not too ripe. But soon, the olives will be ripe and scattered all over the ground. If you are in Malta during this time, you can certainly look out for olive picking experiences and sometimes they are for good cause too! #fallingforfall #malta #valletta #olivetrees
