🍁Pong Ngen - A small house in a big forest, Chiang Mai Province🍁

🌙 Pong Ngen - Small house in the big forest, Kuet Chang sub-district, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai province 🌙 🌞 Pong Ngen is a small village located next to the Mae Taeng River and is surrounded by the forest in Mae Taeng district. There is no road access. If you want to enter the village, there are only 2 ways to get there: 🚶‍♀️ Walking through the forest 🚣‍♀️ Rafting out of the village But walking is not a problem for the villagers in the village. 🌞 There are 3 routes to get to the village: 🚶‍♀️ Walking on a 6-kilometer forest path. On this route, there are beautiful cliffs to stop and take pictures. 🚶‍♀️ Another forest path, 4 kilometers long, this route is shorter than the first route, but it is quite steep. 🚶‍♀️ The third and last route is to take a car to Pa Khao Lam village and then raft down. 🌞 We visited in April, a few weeks after the forest fire was extinguished. Therefore, during the walk, it was very hot, like practicing for hell 🔥 But it was good that we chose to walk on the 4-kilometer route, starting at around 10:30 a.m. and arriving at the homestay that we had booked at around 2:00 p.m., arriving earlier than we expected. 🌞 When we arrived at the accommodation, the villagers prepared a sarong and cold watermelon to welcome us. 🍉 Sweet watermelon is very refreshing after being burned by the sun for hours. 🌞 The homestay also provides water, soda, and alcohol in cans. 🍼 🌞 When we had rested and recovered, we chose a room. Normally, the homestay only accepts groups of 10 people, but on the trip we went as a join-in trip, there were 4 of us and we met 4 new travel companions. The day we went was the last day of the year that the homestay was open, so only our group went to visit the village. So we can choose to stay in any house, it's comfortable. 🏕️ 🌞 There are many types of rooms here, including: 🏕️ 10-person room 🏕️ 2-person room, but no door (Open Air) And the bathroom is shared, you have to bring your own toiletries. 🌞 When we found the room we liked, we put our stuff away and changed clothes to go play in the river in front of the house. We played in the water for a while and then rested and got ready for dinner. 🌞 Dinner here is a very big set of grilled pork. We ate until our bellies were full. 🌞 After dinner, the owner of the homestay came to light a fire to burn sticky rice. It was time to break the ice. After sitting and talking and singing, it was around 9 pm, so we asked to go rest first. 🌞 During the time we went, it rained at night, but the weather wasn't cool at all. It was very hot and humid. I couldn't sleep very well. 🌞 The sun is starting to shine again. We started waking up, one by one, to take a shower and get ready for breakfast. 🍛 The breakfast provided by the accommodation will be local northern food, such as Nam Phrik Ong, fried eggs, fried pork, and there is also coffee, tea, and various instant drinks for us to boil and eat ourselves. 🌞 When it was almost 9 am, we quickly packed our things to prepare to raft back. 🌞 We were lucky that it had rained a few days ago, so when we rafted, we didn't have to get off the raft to lift it over the rocks. We floated the raft through the water for 8 kilometers comfortably. 🌞 The total time we rafted was about 3 hours. 🕛 Start rafting at 09.00-12.00 hrs. to the parking lot. 🚣‍♀️ How to get there 🚗 Drive from Chiang Mai city to Ban Sob Kai, the pickup point to start walking into the village. It takes about 2 hours. 🚗 Park your car at Ban Sob Kai, which is the pickup point and the raft drop-off point. 📍 Or you can follow the map link below 👇🏻 P.S. If anyone wants to visit Ban Pong Ngaen, you have to book in advance. There is no walk-in. https://goo.gl/maps/E4aciB6YMfBKiooy8 🙏🏻 Thank you to everyone who came to follow and like.
