"Blue Cave", a natural wonder of Mae Sot

“Blue Cave” is located at the Buddha Gaya Cave Monastery, Village 6, Mahawan Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province, 30 kilometers away from Mae Sot District, or about a 40-minute drive. There are many natural caves in this area. Blue Cave is another one that is a natural wonder. From the mouth of the cave, we can feel the “Blue Cave” or, to be more precise, “gray-blue”, which is the color of the cave surface. In the front of the cave, there is a reclining Buddha statue in Burmese art for us to pay homage to before entering the cave. Notice the tip of the Buddha statue, there is a large white stone that looks like an elephant’s head. It looks like a white elephant is lying down next to the Buddha statue. The walkway inside Blue Cave is not far, about 100 meters, the same way back and forth. There are only some lights in the cave, so you need to bring your own flashlight to see the beauty inside the cave and to have light for taking pictures. To get to the Blue Cave, you must visit "Blue Cave Buddha Gaya Monastery" located at Village 6, Mahawan Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province, approximately 30 km from Mae Sot District. To get there, from the Mae Sot roundabout (Umphang Intersection), take Highway 1090 towards Phop Phra District. Take the road to Thara Rak Waterfall. Look for the "Blue Cave" sign.
