Phra That Doi Chang Moob

Phra That Doi Chang Moob, Chiang Rai Province 🙏It is the highest viewpoint on Doi Tung. There is a small pagoda, Phra That Chang Moob, located on a large rock that looks like a kneeling elephant. 🐘According to legend, King Phromkumara, the ruler of Yonok Nak Phan, later lost his independence to the Khmers and was exiled to Wiang Si Duang. Later, King Phromkumara drove out the Khmers and changed the name to "Mueang Chai Buri Si Chang Saen", which was later called "Chiang Saen". He moved to build a new city called "Nakhon Chai Prakan" as the capital instead of Yonok Nak Phan. Later, he visited his father and paid homage to the relics on Doi Tung, but the royal elephant became exhausted, stopped and crouched down, and died there.
