Macau Free Travel Day 2

Today we head to the Macau Peninsula. From the Parisian Hotel, there is a bus that takes us directly to Senado Square. Nanping Yaxu → Cangzhou Coffee → Lun Kee Smooth Rice Rolls → Ruins of St. Paul's, Love Lane, Senado Square → Yee Shun Double Skin Milk → Rua da Felicidade → Health Milk Company → Chan Kong Kei Roast Meat → Shopping at nearby department stores and supermarkets → Macau Government Headquarters → Lilau Square → A-Ma Temple → Win to Congee 【Attractions】 1. Ruins of St. Paul's, Love Lane, Senado Square Walking from Senado Square to the Ruins of St. Paul's, you will pass by the St. Dominic's Church and many shops. You will see the Ruins of St. Paul's! We arrived around 10 AM, and it was already a bit crowded. On the left side, there is a Love Lane where you can take photos. After taking photos, you can head back and see the Ruins of St. Paul's from a different angle. Some people also take photos with the Ruins of St. Paul's here. There is a %ARABICA coffee shop in Love Lane where you can take a break and have a cup of coffee. 2. Rua da Felicidade This is a historic and red-light district in Macau. After renovation, it has become a commercial street. There is a famous bakery called Choi Heong Yuen Bakery nearby, but we didn't buy anything this time. 3. Macau Government Headquarters Since we had to wait until 5:30 PM for dinner, we slowly walked from Senado Square to A-Ma Temple. On the way, we saw this pink building and took some photos. Later, we found out it was the Macau Government Headquarters. 4. Lilau Square We also slowly walked here. Although we have been to Macau many times, this is our first time here. Lilau Square is a historic site in Macau, where the Portuguese first settled. 5. A-Ma Temple A-Ma Temple mainly worships the goddess Mazu. It is built against the mountain and faces the sea. The appearance is different from temples in Taiwan, and it is not as large, but it is still very popular. 【Food】 1. Nanping Yaxu This is a very retro restaurant where locals dine. We ordered a deluxe egg and char siu sandwich and a Shao Ong. The char siu in the sandwich is very tender, paired with soft eggs and fluffy toast. The Shao Ong tastes like a mix between a donut and a twin? It is very delicious. 2. Cangzhou Coffee Highly recommended by locals and media as the best egg tart in Macau. We bought an egg tart and a pineapple bun to go. The egg tart is made in a metal mold, with a crispy outer layer and a melt-in-your-mouth filling. It is less greasy than Portuguese egg tarts, but I still prefer Andrew's egg tarts. The pineapple bun didn't leave much of an impression. 3. Lun Kee Smooth Rice Rolls We ordered a scallion and egg rice roll. The sauces include sweet soy sauce, peanut sauce, and hoisin sauce. The rice roll is smooth and elastic. The owner could tell we were from Taiwan and was very friendly. 4. Yee Shun Double Skin Milk/Health Milk Company Yee Shun Double Skin Milk: This is a must-visit shop every time we come to Macau. We ordered the famous double skin milk. The first layer of milk skin is formed by heating and cooling the milk. The texture is creamy and smooth, with a rich milk flavor. It is very delicious. Health Milk Company: Located near Rua da Felicidade. We ordered the hot double skin milk here. The texture is more solid, but I found the owner's attitude not as good. 5. Chan Kong Kei Roast Meat Located on the Macau Peninsula. It was too crowded during lunchtime, so we came back after shopping in the nearby area when it was less crowded. The restaurant is clean and bright. Since we had eaten too much, we only ordered a three-flavor roast platter (duck, char siu, and soy sauce chicken). All three flavors were good, but the price was a bit high, almost NT$1,000. 6. Win to Congee Located near A-Ma Temple. You can make a reservation online. We pre-ordered the Wasabi Shredded Chicken and ordered the Bubbling Clams. We had high expectations for the shredded chicken, but it was full of wasabi, making it very spicy. We had to rinse it with hot water before eating. Besides the chicken, there were also taro shreds. The Bubbling Clams had clams and a lot of garlic. We also ordered some vegetables. By the end, it was very salty but still tasty.
