Happy Farm is an initiative undertaken by the IAM to create an urban oasis where a spectrum of programs, ranging from visits, hands-on farming experience to educational activities, is held to enhance interaction and exchange between members of local communities and groups. It is a multi-use outdoor classroom for urban dwellers to learn and experience farming, participate in outdoor education and be close to nature, encouraging them to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle. As far as urban recycling is concerned, it promotes recycling and making good use of organic resources, including turning waste such as kitchen waste into resources for environmental greening, soil and water conservation, improvement of environmental quality and creation of habitats. It is committed to heighten public’s participation in seeking sustainable development for the society as a whole.
