The Lu Family Mansion is a two-story Chinese-style building built with thick blue bricks. It is a typical Chinese-style mansion and a typical example of the gentle and delicate architectural style of Guangdong folk houses in the late Qing Dynasty. The building has three bays and three entrances with two floors, including a hall, bedroom, kitchen, utility room, patio, etc. The building is arranged with multiple patios for ventilation and lighting. The space on the entire central axis is transparent, but there are screen partitions. The interior integrates Chinese and Western decorative materials and techniques, including brick carvings, plaster sculptures, horizontal scrolls, hangings, and oyster shell windows commonly seen in central Guangdong, as well as Western-style false ceilings, Manchu windows, and cast iron railings. The two distinctive decorations are combined in one, which is very interesting. The windows on the main facade are all Portuguese shutters, of which the two on the upper left and right are the most exquisite.
