Ma'anshan Museum (1)

Ma'anshan, anciently the land of Wu, Yue, and Chu, boasts a rich history and culture. Excavations of prehistoric cultural sites like Yandun Mountain and Lingjiatan may push the history of Chinese civilization back more than 5,300 years. The Lingjiatan site in Hanshan County is recognized as one of China's "Top 100 Archaeological Discoveries of the Century." Ma'anshan Museum houses a large collection of unearthed cultural relics, including ancient jade and bronze ware. Figure 3 shows the museum's most treasured artifact: a large bronze nao (a type of bell) with a hooked cloud pattern from the Shang Dynasty.
