Egypt is a great place to visit, with its monuments, culture, desert, Nile River, Red Sea, and other unique features, plus low prices. It's definitely worth a visit! Route: Our itinerary was Cairo–Aswan–Luxor–Hurghada, a total of 9 days and 8 nights, covering the main attractions in Egypt. We were lucky enough to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum on the fourth day after its official opening. Hotel: My favorite hotel was Basma in Aswan, next to the Old Cataract Hotel, with a beautiful view of the Nile River (p78). I also liked the Steigenberger Hotel in Luxor, which faces the Nile River and has a pier where you can take a felucca (p9). The Desert Rose Resort in Hurghada is also nice, an all-inclusive resort. Food: Overall, Egyptian food is much better than expected.
