Luxor Ruins

Luxor Ruins Located in the very center of the city. Built as a secondary temple of Karnak Temple during the New Kingdom. Also known as the "Southern Harem," it was built for the "Opet Festival," when Amun visits once a year to spend time with his wife, Mut. At the time of construction, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple were connected by the Avenue of the Sphinxes. The obelisk in front of the First Pylon is famous. There used to be two obelisks, but now there is only one, and the other one is in Place de la Concorde in France. This is because Muhammad Ali, who founded the Muhammad Ali dynasty, gave it to France. France gave the clock tower in the Muhammad Ali Mosque in the historical district of Cairo.
