1. Mount Laojun, the only 5A-level scenic spot that doesn't allow foreigners to enter, is a must-visit. The magnificent environment is truly breathtaking. 2. Luoyang is an ancient capital of thirteen dynasties with rich historical heritage. Definitely avoid group tours as they rush through everything and have many tourist traps. Do your research and travel independently to fully experience Luoyang. 3. If you want to go directly to Longmen Grottoes, take a train or high-speed rail to Longmen Station, which is only about 4 kilometers from the grottoes. You can arrive by noon if you take the morning train. 4. Longmen Grottoes no longer offers night views. For an in-depth experience, find a tour guide. Recommended route: West Hill Grottoes - East Hill Grottoes - Buddha Worship Platform - Xiangshan Temple - White Garden. 5. Yingtian Gate and Mingtang Heavenly Hall are very close to each other and can be visited in one evening. If you just want to take photos, you don't need to buy tickets. 6. Skip Jiguan Cave unless you're interested in rocks. It's quite cold inside, so remember to wear extra layers. 7. For beef soup or mutton soup, don't bother queuing at popular internet-famous restaurants. The small eateries in the alleys serve more authentic flavors at better prices. 8. Remember to make reservations a few days in advance as they get very crowded and same-day entry can be difficult. 10. Prepare yourself mentally before visiting the Luoyang Ancient Tomb Museum. Once inside, you'll feel like you've entered the underworld, as if each artifact is telling its own story. 11. For accommodation, I recommend staying near Shizi Street in the old city area. It's surrounded by lively pedestrian streets, convenient for getting around, and affordable with average costs around 150 yuan per person. 12. Remember to book your guesthouse or hotel in advance.
