Having been first established in 68 AD under the patronage of Emperor Ming in the Eastern Han dynasty, it has over 1900 years of history and regarded as the Cradle of Buddhism in China. Interestingly, there are Thai, Burmese (Myanmar), and Indian temples inside the area, as well as a statue by Japan.
