Best of all, admission is free, though parking in the nearby lots costs around $10. The observatory itself is a blend of history and science, with fascinating exhibits on space and astronomy. I loved exploring the planetarium shows and peering through the massive telescopes. The surrounding Griffith Park is also fantastic for hiking, and we enjoyed a scenic walk along the trails.
