Wat Nakhon Kosa, Lopburi

Located north of Lopburi Railway Station near Phra Kan Shrine, there are ancient ruins: a large Dvaravati-era pagoda and a Lopburi-era prang from around the 17th Buddhist century. It is a religious site from the Dvaravati period, based on assumptions from the large bricks and the high amount of rice husks. When digging down the base of the pagoda about one meter, the original base in the shape of a person carrying a load is found, which is a characteristic of pagodas in the Dvaravati period. The ordination hall and the temple were built during the reign of King Narai the Great who founded Lopburi. #NewYearNewTrip
