Fujian | Avoiding crowds during holidays at Fujian Tulou clusters

After watching Big Fish & Begonia, I've always wanted to visit the Hakka Tulou clusters. I've looked through many online guides, and they all say that the experience at Chuxi Tulou is better. Although not as famous, there are many Tulous and they are well-preserved. It is the most primitive and most representative of Hakka culture in Yongding district. The largest, Jiqing building, is unoccupied, allowing free movement up and down the floors. It's not overly commercialized, and you can even see villagers playing mahjong. In short, the original ecological ancient buildings are beautiful no matter how you photograph them. The whole area has a secluded feel, and it's even more mystical surrounded by clouds and mist. This time, due to heavy rain, I missed the chance to climb high for a panoramic view. But walking on the stone paths in the rain is also a special experience. ☔️ 🎫 Ticket: 65RMB/person, free entry to Jiqing building. ⚠️ It's a 15MIN walk from the entrance to the Tulou cluster, or you can take a shuttle back and forth for 10RMB. ⏰ Time: Open from 8:30-19:00, it's recommended to reserve about 4 hours for the visit. 🚗 Transportation: Self-driving is more convenient, about a 1.5H drive from Longyan high-speed train station.
