Buddha in the sky- Longkou Nanshan

we took advantage of the nice sunny weather today in Shandong to pay a visit to a huge Buddhist complex in Longkou. main attraction would be the copper Buddha on top of a hill, access by 360 stairs so be ready. you will get a view on the city and surrounding hills and buildings. Then temple of jade Buddha , with plenty of stone Buddha's of various colours and sizes. we also saw a Shaolin exhibition, entertaining with a bit of stone breaking, calligraphy, jokes Actually, all the buildings are not old, around 20 years. The temple was founded in 19th century but did develop only recently. All in all an interesting visit. #shandong #temples Getting There - not that easy, need a car or a taxi.
