London Hidden Gems | Treasure Mexican Restaurant KOL

In my mind, Mexican food has always been synonymous with being appetizing and filling, but never refined. However, at KOL, a creative Mexican restaurant in Marylebone, I discovered that Mexican food can be both delicious and upscale. This restaurant has become the gold standard for Mexican cuisine in London in my mind! KOL's head chef, Santiago Lastra, is from Mexico and began his career as a professional chef at the age of fifteen. In 2017, he also participated in Noma's seven-week pop-up restaurant event in Mexico. Their dishes combine Mexican cooking techniques with British ingredients, and can be summarized as using fresh ingredients, exquisite plating, and unique seasoning. I had the four-course set lunch menu for GBP 55 per person that day. There are more courses available on the menu. If I had known it was so delicious, I would have chosen the most courses. Anyway, I'm planning on coming back to this restaurant, so leaving a little suspense is a good thing. If PULPO (grilled octopus leg) is on the menu when you go, be sure to order it. The fresh, tender, and firm octopus leg with freshly baked tortillas and bone marrow is just too good!
