Guildhall Art Gallery - London

The Guildhall Art Gallery houses the City of London art collection. The gallery's collection began in 1885 with the City of London Corporation art collection, but these were destroyed during World War II. Today, the gallery has about 4,000 works, of which about 250 are exhibited at a time. The themes of many paintings are related to London. In the basement of the gallery, you can visit the excavations of the ancient Roman amphitheater, on the foundation of which the current buildings were erected. Probably the most popular painting in the gallery is Rosetti's 'La Ghirlandata'. Address: Guildhall Yard, London, Greater London, England, EC2V 5AE. #londontrip #londontrips
