The Taihang Grand Canyon is located in Shibanyan Township, Linzhou City, Anyang City, Henan Province. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction. 1. Location The Taihang Grand Canyon is located at the junction of Shanxi and Henan provinces. It is 50 km long from north to south, 1.5 km wide from east to west, and covers a total area of 89 square kilometers. Because it is located in Linzhou, it is also called the Linzhou Grand Canyon. 2. Climate Shibanyan Town, where the Taihang Grand Canyon is located, has a warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons and plenty of sunshine. There is little rain in spring, heavy rain in summer, clear skies in autumn, and cold winters with little rain and snow. 3. Natural Resources The Taihang Grand Canyon has a vegetation coverage rate of 90% and a forest coverage rate of 80%. The scenic area has rich original vegetation and artificial afforestation, forming a good natural ecosystem. 4. Main Attractions The main attractions include the Peach Blossom Valley with its spring pools and waterfalls, the Taihang Sky Road with its hundred-mile gallery, and the Wangxiangyan, the soul of Taihang. Among them, the Peach Blossom Valley is famous for its peach blossoms blooming in the cold winter and the water freezing in the hot summer; the Taihang Sky Road is a scenic road designed on the top of Taihang Mountain, with several viewing platforms along the way. 5. Cultural Activities The Taihang Grand Canyon is not only a representative of natural scenery but also a treasure trove of historical culture. It was once the place where King Wuding of the Shang Dynasty and the slave-born prime minister Fu Shuo lived, and the famous scholar Xia Fu of the Eastern Han Dynasty also lived in seclusion here.
