|The magical legend of migration. Nanjixiang Temple, located in Pingchuan Village, Liyi Town, has a grand building, complete structure and spectacular shape. The temple was founded during the Zhenguan period of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. It was originally located in Songjiachuan, south of Pingchuan Village. It was moved to Pingchuan Village and rebuilt during the Tiansheng period of Song Dynasty. There are different legends about the relocation of the temple. The first legend is said to be based on an original inscription in the temple. The inscription records that a wealthy family named Cui, originally from Lucheng in this county, donated money to build a temple in order to have a son. This was a great blessing, and the son was born and became the top scorer in the imperial examination at the age of fifteen. However, the inscription that recorded this event in detail was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. There is also a legend that during the Song Dynasty, the topography changed dramatically, and floods washed away gullies on both sides of the temple. The gullies were deep and the cliffs were high, and the temple was on the edge of the abyss and was in danger of extinction. As a result, the Bodhisattva appeared in a dream, the temple disappeared, and a magnificent and auspicious palace rose up in Pingchuan Village. If we calculate based on the content of this inscription, this temple had a history of 400 years before it was moved to Pingchuan Village, and after moving to its current location, it has experienced more than 1,000 years of ups and downs.
