Wang Mang Ridge in Shanxi - A journey to the Taihang Mountains

Wang Mang Ridge is named after Wang Mang of the Eastern Han Dynasty, who forced Liu Xiu to camp here. The cover photo was taken at Liu Xiu Jump, where it is said that Liu Xiu was trapped and only escaped Wang Mang's pursuit by making his horse leap, hence it is also known as 'a step away'! Wang Mang, some say he usurped the throne and was a traitor, while others consider him the first social reformer in China. In the interpretive signs at the Wang Mang Ridge scenic spot, he is still given the status of a legitimate dynasty. In the 'Heavenly Script' module at the Thousand-Layer Rock, there is a glorification of Wang Mang, saying that his defeat was due to a sudden heavy rain which prevented him from reading the military tactics given by the 'Heavenly Soldiers', suggesting both divine support and the existence of an objective reason for the rain! Flights can be chosen to surrounding cities such as Taiyuan, Changzhi, Zhengzhou, etc., and then take a car or bus from the local area to the scenic spot.
