A healing experience at Amandayan.

Due to the rare fog at Lijiang Airport, the plane was diverted to Chengdu and then flew back to Lijiang three hours later. The anxiety of waiting for my luggage was completely relieved when the driver arranged by the hotel took out a fragrant wet towel from the six-seat Mercedes-Benz business car for me to wipe my hands. The car drove past fields and houses, and the clouds stopped on the mountainside of the snow-capped Yulong Snow Mountain. The golden sunlight in Lijiang after the Beginning of Winter seemed to be woven with silver threads. After passing through the evergreen vegetation, the car drove to Amandayan on the top of Lion Hill. Although I have seen it many times on the Internet, when I came to the pavilion and saw the Dayan Ancient Town spread out like a fable in front of me, I was overwhelmed with amazement and love. Walking through Amandayan is like visiting a private botanical garden. Even in winter, you can still smell the fragrance of tiger orchids. It must be more beautiful and fragrant when the trees bloom in other seasons. The room is very Aman, very reassuring. The luxury suite has a deep wooden roof ridge. Is it built using the traditional construction method of Yunnan folk houses? I thought I would be afraid to see the towering wooden beams when I woke up at night, but I wasn't. There is indeed music from the mountain, but the sound is very small from the room, and it ends completely before midnight. The whole sleep was very quiet and very sound. The hotel's down pillow also contributed to this, as it was the most comfortable pillow I have ever slept on. Aman's turndown service also tells guests that they have more pillow options. When I woke up, I watched the sunlight paint on the wooden table and floor through the wooden window grille, and watched the layers of green outside the screen sway faintly. After breakfast, I took a walk in the hotel's public area. I looked at the Yulong Snow Mountain from the terrace of the Chinese restaurant and was attracted by the shimmering golden light at the bottom of the pool by the pool. This is the pool with the best water quality in Lijiang, even though it is outdoors. Amandayan is delicious. The Chinese restaurant is delicious, the goodnight soup (tremella and red dates) is well-cooked, and the braised beef brisket rice noodles are the most recommended for breakfast (some local Yunnan food is not in my expectation and aesthetics, but still interesting).
