Lijiang 3 OldTowns

#travellerwonderland Lijiang, in Yunnan Province, China, is home to three main ancient towns, and I am pleased to manage to visit all these old towns, collectively recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Old Town of Lijiang." These three towns are: -Dayan Ancient Town (大研古城) – The most famous and central part of Lijiang, known for its well-preserved traditional Naxi architecture, cobblestone streets, and vibrant culture. This is the biggest old town in Lijiang, with many beautiful cafes, restaurants with outstanding fresh flowers, guest houses, and temple, behind this old town is Black Dragon Pool Park. -Shuhe Ancient Town (束河古镇) – A smaller, quieter town located about 4 kilometers northwest of Dayan, historically an important stop on the Ancient Tea Horse Road. -Baisha Ancient Town (白沙古镇) – The oldest of the three towns and a key cultural center of the Naxi people, known for its ancient murals and serene atmosphere, with the backdrop of Jade Dragon Mountain. These towns offer a rich blend of history, culture, and scenic beauty. Each of the old towns has its own unique charm and beauty, and they all left me wanting to come back.
