Lijiang Wenhai

Wenhai is a seasonal tourist attraction located at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang. Each spring and summer, Wenhai becomes a sea of flowers, making it one of the most worthwhile destinations for tourists in Lijiang. Wenhai Village, in Baisha Township of Yulong County, Lijiang, has an average altitude of 3100 meters. At this altitude of over 3000 meters on the ridge of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, there is a seasonal lake formed by the melting snow and ice of the mountain. The lake's surface area varies by up to five times between the rainy and dry seasons, with the smallest area being just before the rainy season begins. Similar to Shangri-La's Napahai, this seasonal lake is actually a vast grassland with a small lake at its center for most of the year. From April to November, a wide grassland forms around the lake, and the meadows are filled with colorful flowers.
