When visiting Lijiang, you really can’t miss the InterContinental Hotel. The InterContinental is located next to Lijiang Ancient Town. It has large rooms and very convenient transportation, but the room rate is relatively expensive, so I booked another cheaper hotel for this trip. I had not originally planned to go to the InterContinental, but was wandering around the ancient town alone and unknowingly walked to the door of the hotel. Since I was already there, I decided to go in for a stroll. The middle of the hotel lobby overlooks the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and is a famous check-in spot. I saw many tourists just checking in, taking a photo and leaving. I was unexpectedly attracted by the camping dining area outside the restaurant. I thought that in Lijiang, next to the bustling ancient city, there was a quiet place where people could slowly appreciate the beauty of the snow-capped mountains. So I decided to sit outside, eating delicious French fries and hamburgers while looking at the fascinating snow-capped mountain scenery. I spent half the afternoon unknowingly. After eating and seeing enough, I walked around the hotel. The SPA massage is located in the atrium of the hotel. The environment is very quiet. Since I was not in a hurry and I learned from the waiter that the hotel was having an early bird discount, I decided to experience a 60-minute full body oil massage. At $700, I believe this price is not high in a 5-star hotel spa in Hong Kong. The massage room is located on the underground floor and is open-plan. I really like the open-air design of the bathroom. The treatment starts with a 10-minute foot soak in fresh milk, followed by a 50-minute massage. Sugar water is served after the treatment. The whole massage experience is very satisfying. After taking a short rest in the massage parlor, we returned to the ancient city for dinner.
