Just Back from Qingyuan, Avoided All the Pitfalls

In February, the weather in Qingyuan is neither too hot nor too cold, making it a perfect time to visit. Whether you want to enjoy the natural scenery or try some delicious food, Qingyuan is a great choice. 🎒Preparation 🧥Clothing: Although the temperature is comfortable in February, it can be a bit chilly in the morning and evening. Remember to bring a light jacket 🧥. If you plan to go to a hot spring, don't forget to bring a nice swimsuit 👙. 💄Toiletries: Don't forget sunscreen, as the sun in Qingyuan can be quite strong. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses 🕶️. Also, bring some moisturizing skincare products, as traveling can be tiring and your skin needs to be taken care of. Additionally, bring an umbrella 🌂 that can be used for both sun and rain, just in case. 💰Other: Although mobile payment is very convenient now, it is still recommended to bring some cash, as some small shops may only accept cash. And of course, don't forget your ID card 🪪, which is essential for travel. 🗺️Travel Itinerary Day 1: 🚢Arrive in Qingyuan in the morning and head straight to Beijiang Three Gorges. I highly recommend taking a cruise 🛳 to enjoy the scenery. As the boat moves slowly, the green mountains and rivers on both sides of the Beijiang River unfold like a painting. The gentle breeze on your face is very pleasant. You can also see fishermen casting nets to catch fish, which is full of life. 🍱Have a river-fresh feast on the boat at noon. The freshly caught fish and shrimp are simply cooked, and the freshness is amazing 😋. 🌳In the afternoon, go to Feilai Lake Park, which has a large lake, many small islands, and lush trees. Take a walk 🚶‍♀️ along the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You will feel relaxed. The park also has many amusement facilities, so if you are traveling with children, they will have a great time. Day 2: 🕳️In the morning, go to Lianzhou Underground River, a must-see attraction in Qingyuan. As soon as you enter the cave, you feel like you are in a mysterious underground kingdom. The stalactites in the cave are of various shapes, and under the light, they look like a dreamland 🧚‍♀️. Take a boat tour of the underground river, where the water is clear and the only sound is the gentle flow of the river. It's a wonderful experience. 🥘Try Lianzhou vegetable pot at noon. Day 3: 🌄In the morning, go to Yingxi Corridor, where thousands of limestone peaks of various shapes form a giant landscape painting. I highly recommend renting a bike 🚲 and riding through the peaks. It's a great experience. 🍲Try Jiulong tofu at a farmhouse restaurant in the peak town at noon. The tofu is tender and smooth, and the unique sauce is very satisfying. 🎈In the afternoon, experience a hot air balloon 🎈 ride in the peak town. As you slowly rise into the air, you can see the entire peak forest. If the weather is good, you may even see a beautiful sunset. 🍱Food Recommendations 🍗Qingyuan Chicken: This is a must-try dish in Qingyuan. The chicken is yellow-skinned and white-fleshed, and it is tender and delicious. Whether it is boiled or steamed, you can taste the original flavor of the chicken. It's a must-try 😋. 🍜Knife-cut Rice Cake: Glutinous rice flour and hot water are kneaded into a dough, cut into small pieces, and cooked in beef soup with beef slices, scallions, and other seasonings. The soft and glutinous texture and rich soup are amazing. 🥧Mugwort Rice Cake: Made with mugwort juice and glutinous rice flour, the rice cake is filled with red bean paste, peanuts, and other ingredients. It is soft, glutinous, and sweet, with a faint fragrance of mugwort. Don't miss this special snack. 🏠Accommodation Options 🏨Downtown: If you want convenience for travel, shopping, and dining, downtown hotels are the best choice. There are various price ranges to choose from. You can also visit the night market in the city center to experience the local life. 🌳Near Scenic Spots: If you want to be close to nature and enjoy peace and quiet, homestays near scenic spots are the best choice. Many homestays have unique designs and beautiful environments, with picturesque views outside the window. For example, homestays near Yingxi Corridor are surrounded by peaks, and you can enjoy the starry sky at night ✨. ❌Pitfall Avoidance Guide 1. Don't buy tickets from unofficial channels. I've heard of people buying fake tickets to save money, only to be denied entry to the scenic spot and waste their time. 2. When taking a cruise, be sure to follow the instructions of the staff. Safety comes first. Some people don't follow the rules and walk around on the boat to take good photos, which is very dangerous. 3. When visiting caves, the temperature is low. Don't wear too little for the sake of beauty, or you may catch a cold. 4. When trying local food, some of Qingyuan's specialties are heavy and spicy.
