Lianyungang's ancient city offers a sense of historical culture

Lianyungang's ancient city has two sites, one is the ancient Haizhou government office - today's Haizhou ancient city; the other is the Donghai county government office during the Six Dynasties period - today's Nancheng Phoenix ancient city. Haizhou ancient city no longer exists, only a few historical sites such as the Bell and Drum Tower, Wenmiao Jie Gate, and Shuanglong Well remain, while others like Qucheng Gate, Linhong Gate, and the City God Temple have been rebuilt later. Haizhou ancient city had many temples and was known as 'the world's number one star-gazing city'. Nancheng Phoenix ancient city was a military training site during the Six Dynasties, rising due to its strategic importance in coastal defense. Still existing are the Six Dynasties Street, the ancient City God Temple, and on Phoenix Mountain, the imperial Jade Emperor Pavilion was destroyed during the Japanese invasion but has now been rebuilt. Among them, there are many ancient residences and wells worth visiting.
