Clickimin Broch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

On the shore of clickimin loch on the outskirts of Lerwick on the island of Shetland is a great example of a Broch a stone built round house only found in Scotland. This Broch tower still stands impressively high and around it are the remains of a number of different structures dating from around 1000 BC to 500 AD. There were said to be several periods of occupation at the site including late Bronze Age farmstead , early Iron Age farmstead and Iron Age fort . The site is open 1st April to 30 Sept Daily , 9.30am to 5.30pm 1st Oct to 31 Mar Daily, 10am to 4pm I took these pictures of my visit 🙋🏻‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
