Visit Wat Xieng Thong after 4 PM for a Unique Experience!

Wat Xieng Thong, established in 1560, is considered a quintessential representation of Lao art and craftsmanship. The temple features intricately carved wooden doors depicting scenes from the life of Buddha, and a rear wall adorned with a colorful glass mosaic of the Tree of Life. I decided to visit after taking a nap and arrived around 4 PM, after a half-hour walk. The sunlight illuminated the Tree of Life, making it shimmer beautifully. The reflection from the colorful glass was stunning. By this time, all the tour groups had left for their meeting points, leaving the courtyard almost empty, which was wonderful! The serene Wat Xieng Thong is a completely different place compared to when it's crowded with tourists. Not only is photography allowed here, but you can even take wedding photos inside the main hall, which was a first for me.
