p1-p3: The public areas from the hotel lobby to the elevator on the accommodation floor are very well designed. Compared to the bright lobby of the Hilton in the same city, I personally prefer the darker tones of this Sheraton. The paintings in the corridor are of local Lanzhou scenery. The black and white photos blend local elements with the overall hotel design. However, the only downside is that only the paintings reflect local elements, and the style is relatively monotonous. If local elements such as Dunhuang and the Yellow River could be incorporated into the overall design, the effect might be better. p4-p8: I chose an executive suite this time. My room had a bad view, I couldn't see the Yellow River or the customs. The interior design of the room is standard. Although the dressing table takes up the space of the sink, resulting in only one sink in the bathroom, the suite has an extra guest bathroom, which makes up for the defect of two people disturbing each other when washing in the morning (but the double bed and twin bed rooms can't accommodate two people washing at the same time). One good thing is that the bathtub is very large and can easily accommodate two people bathing together. p9-p12: Pictures 9 and 10 are of dinner. The staff were all very friendly and the service quality was a plus. The dishes were standard, among which the cucumber stuffed with meat is worth praising. The local cucumbers used not only serve as containers for the meat, but also add a hint of sweetness to the food. The sashimi is served with apple vinegar in addition to soy sauce, which is a nice touch. It's perfect for someone like me who likes sour food. It saves the trouble of asking the staff for a plate of vinegar separately, and the taste and texture of apple vinegar are better than ordinary rice vinegar. It goes well with salmon sashimi, which is both greasy and appetizing. Pictures 11-12 are of breakfast. There are fewer Chinese options, and the beef noodles are not as good as those at Hilton and Hyatt (because the soup is made with beef granules like the ones at the noodle shop outside, not beef slices, and the chili is not traditional oil chili, which is a bit disappointing). There are more Western options, the bread and desserts are all delicious, and the egg rolls are also delicious (I forgot to take a picture), but unfortunately they don't have my favorite eggs Benedict. p13-p16: The executive lounge is on the 45th floor (actually it should be the 43rd floor, the elevator button skips 43 and 44, so when you come up from the 42nd floor, you go straight to the 45th floor lounge). The view is great, you can see Matan and the big bend of the Yellow River. There are very few types of dishes, only three or four Chinese dishes, and only three or four Western desserts. But what saves the day is the barbecue skewers. The meat is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They must have added vinegar when grilling, the slightly sour taste gives the skewers more layers, and you never get tired of them (I ate more than ten skewers). In addition, the bar also has a daily special, which looks and tastes good.
