Gansu Museum - Buddhist Art Exhibition

Due to its geographical location, Gansu became the frontier of the spread of Indian Buddhism into the mainland. Buddhist art here blended with the local ethnic cultures, leaving behind many Buddhist cultural relics unique to the region. The Buddhist art exhibition at the Gansu Museum features over a hundred pieces (sets) of Buddhist artifacts, spanning a history of 1700 years from the Sixteen Kingdoms period to the Ming and Qing dynasties, comprehensively showcasing the charming Buddhist culture of Gansu. Among them, the stone pagoda unearthed in Zhuanglang County is a treasured collection of the museum. The pagoda is constructed from five trapezoidal stone blocks stacked on top of each other, tapering from larger at the bottom to smaller at the top.
