Wat Mahawan, Lamphun Province (Phra Rod Luang)

Most of the tourist attractions are about ancient art and culture. Of course, it is definitely Wat Wararam. Let me briefly tell you the history first. Wat Mahawan (Mahawan Wanaram) is the royal temple of Queen Chamadevi. The pagoda of Wat Mahawan enshrines Phra Rod Lamphun, one of the five oldest Benjaphakee amulets. It is believed that Phra Rod is sacred and magical in terms of escaping danger and disaster, and is charming, popular, and brings wealth and invulnerability. Whoever comes to pay homage to Phra Rod will be free from all dangers. This ancient temple is over 1,300 years old and was built during the reign of Queen Chamadevi. There is a Buddha image in the reclining Buddha posture that was invited from the city of Lavo. The famous amulet crypt is Phra Rod Mahawan, which is considered a famous mold of Phra Rod.
