We asked the vendors selling things in the temple where we could park our cars and asked about the history of the Saw Lang pagoda. The answer was that it had been there for hundreds of years. We walked around to find the answer and found the temple's information sign that told the story of the Saw Lang pagoda. According to the history of Wat Chedi Saw Lang, it is located in Mueang District. It is an important and ancient temple in Lampang Province. The word "Saw" is a northern word that means twenty, while the word "Lang" means one. Therefore, this temple means that there are 20 pagodas. The large Phra That Saw pagoda is a combination of Lanna and Burmese art. Beside the pagodas is a small chapel with a bronze Buddha image in the meditation posture, Chiang Saen style. The locals call it the Phra Phuttha Than Jai. Behind the ordination hall is a museum displaying antiques that the locals brought as offerings. From the evidence found, it is believed that this temple was built more than a thousand years ago. In addition, the villagers dug up a pure gold Buddha statue weighing 100 baht and 2 salung and gave it to the temple as property. It is called Phraya Saen Chae Thongkham. It is a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, Lanna art, around the 21st Buddhist century. It can be disassembled into 32 pieces. There is a sacred relic attached to the head. It is a sacred Buddha statue that the villagers highly respect. Lampang is the dream destination of many people.
