The place where the sky and mountains are reborn on the water

When I first faced Lake Pukaki, my initial thought was, "Is this color even real?" The water shimmered subtly between turquoise blue and sky blue, and the distant snow-capped Mount Cook reflected on the lake, creating a perfect symmetry. When the wind stopped, the surface of the water became so calm, like a mirror, that it was hard to distinguish between above and below, revealing a mystical landscape. Sitting on a small stone by the lakeside, feeling the breeze and gazing at the view, was healing in itself. Without any special activities, just staying there was enough to give meaning to the journey. There are many viewpoints along the way where you can stop your car, making it enjoyable to admire Lake Pukaki from various angles. If you're traveling to New Zealand's South Island, this lake is a must-visit. A day spent witnessing this scenery will linger in your heart for a long time.
