Lahore is the second largest city in Pakistan. In the 7th century AD, Xuanzang mentioned Lahore in his works. During the Mughal Empire, Lahore was often used as the capital or summer capital, and Lahore Fort was the palace of the Mughal emperor. Lahore Fort is known as the "soul of Pakistan" for its colorful and brilliant Mughal architectural art. It is the architectural treasure of the Mughal Empire, but its predecessor was only a mud fort built in 1021 AD. In 1566, the Mughal Emperor Akbar rebuilt Lahore Fort to resist foreign invasions. As Lahore gradually became the commercial center and imperial summer capital of the South Asian subcontinent, four generations of Mughal emperors continued to add and expand gardens, fountains and palaces in the ancient castle, making the ancient castle a golden royal garden. After hundreds of years of wind and rain erosion, only the huge red-brown rock walls are left to tell the history of the past. In 1981, UNESCO listed Lahore Fort as a World Cultural Heritage Site. The most romantic Shish Mahal in the ancient castle-"Mirror Palace" was the sleeping palace built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan for his queen Ajiman, and this queen is the famous Taj. This mirror palace, built by the craftsmen of the whole country, is inlaid with various precious gems on the four walls, and the dome and four walls are covered with 900,000 pieces of red, blue and brown glass mirrors. As long as a candle is lit in the center of the hall, the mirrors of various colors can reflect a vast galaxy. The mirror palace today is already in ruins, and the beauty of the year is only the broken glass on the wall of the temple. Facing the Alamgiri Gate of Lahore Fort is the Badshahi Mosque bathed in golden sunlight. "Badshahi" is the transliteration of Persian "king". It was presided over by Shahjahan's son Aurangzeb in 1671 and completed in 1773. It is currently the second largest mosque in Pakistan and the fifth largest mosque in the world. The mosque is built on a raised platform, with a magnificent appearance. The entire building is composed of three parts: arches, squares, and prayer halls. The porcelain inlaid belt on the wall has a strong Persian and Mughal style. From the corridor under the north wall, you can see the largest park in Pakistan, Iqbal Park, and the Minar-e-Pakistan Pakistan Tower standing in it.
