#francetrip Just returned from a lovely trip to La Clayette, and it was the perfect mix of history, nature, and relaxation! 🌳🏰 La Clayette is a charming town in the Saône-et-Loire department of Burgundy, France, and it feels like a hidden gem. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the stunning Château de La Clayette, a fairytale castle surrounded by a moat. Although the castle itself isn’t open to the public, the views from the outside were breathtaking, and wandering around the grounds was free! The reflections of the castle in the water were picture-perfect. 📸 I spent the morning strolling through the quaint streets of the town, which is filled with pretty little shops, bakeries, and cafés. I stopped at a local patisserie to grab a freshly baked croissant and a coffee, enjoying it while soaking in the atmosphere. 🥐☕ Just a short walk from the castle is the Parc du Château, a beautiful park where you can relax by the lake or take a leisurely walk. The whole area is so peaceful, making it a great spot for a picnic or some downtime. In the afternoon, I visited the nearby Arboretum de Pézanin, which is free to enter. It’s one of the oldest and largest arboretums in France, with over 4,000 species of trees. 🌲🌳 Walking along the trails was a refreshing way to connect with nature.
