If you're traveling to Kyoto in February or March, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, famous for its academics, is Kyoto's best plum blossom spot. It's the season when Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is bustling with overflowing red and white plum blossoms and people who look like students preparing for exams. It opens at 5am, so if you're staying overnight, the best time to take photos is early in the morning. Please note that parking is only available from 9am.
