I chose the 1:30 PM slot, as most people have finished their meals by then, increasing the chances of securing a garden seat. There are only two outdoor seats, so if there's availability, don't hesitate to switch to one! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The tofu soup is light and subtle. Perhaps it's Kyoto's superior water quality, but the tofu dishes here are truly remarkable. I've tried tofu cuisine before, but this was an entirely surprising experience. The tofu is delicate, smooth, and rich in soybean aroma! I ordered the 3,700 yen set menu, which included Nanzenji's signature hot pot tofu soup, sashimi, tempura, and various desserts. My absolute favorites were the yuzu-flavored tofu and soy-marinated tofu skin—both were incredibly impressive. However, those who prefer stronger flavors might find it a bit mild.
